At age 28, Shannon’s husband, Jay, was tragically killed in a car accident. In that very moment, her whole world changed. Shannon was left alone to parent her four year old son, two year old daughter, and she was six months pregnant with her third child.

Richard passed on a Thursday, I was at the funeral home on Friday and at our son’s wedding on Saturday.  It was our faithful God that carried us through the wedding.  My son’s fiance was from Thailand and her family had flown in for the wedding, everything was set.  Richard would have wanted the wedding to go on.

It’s true that 75% of friends disappear, because I lost that many or more.  But God even used that to give me a heart for widows.  I understand their loss and loneliness on some level.
