Wills and minor children
I’m Miriam Neff-with STARTING OVER FINANCIALLY, and I’m Valerie Neff Hogan, and we’re here to talk about moneyM Most American adults do not have wills. Sadly many of those have minor children who will suffer, unnecessarily. As people of faith, we care who raises our children.
V When parents of minor children die without a will, the courts determine guardianship. Their first look is at close relatives and who the children know well. Our priority was a couple with like faith. That aspect was more important than family links. Another person can be designated custodian, of assets to meet our children’s needs.
M We recognize that young couples don’t anticipate early death. However, God has entrusted those children to you. Love them well by creating a good plan should the unexpected happen.
