Twas the night
Twas the night before Christmas—and the universe was about to quake. A baby was nourished for his last few umbilical chord hours, about to debut, breath this earths air, and change the world. This baby would fulfill every prophesy about the Messiah of God’s chosen people and offer to become everyone’s Messiah. His name would divide families, cities, cultures, and nations. Not the simple name, Jesus (Hay-sues), but Lord Jesus, the ONE and ONLY way to eternal life. That declaration would invoke loyalty, new connections of devotion, and distrust, even hatred. We sing Silent Night, Holy Night. But all that would change.
People neutral to the real meaning of Christmas will change as well.
One day every knee will bow acknowledging that the babe Jesus is the ONE and ONLY Savior of the universe.
