Surf Riding

Riding the Amtrak from Laguna Beach to San Diego the ocean view demanded that I neglect preparing for the next seminar and let the waves mesmerize my brain.  Gentle water, children playing in the sand, rocky shores, waves crashing.  There was a place for every kind of water lover.

While I admired the surfers, I did not desire to be out there.

Life is a beach, with every kind of wave, and sometimes we’re tossed where we wish not to be.

I quote, Oswald Chambers.  “The surf that distresses the ordinary swimmer produces in the surf-rider the super-joy of going straight through it.”I Corinthians 10:13 reassures us that we will not be in waters beyond our strength.  That, my friend, means we need not fear the surf, but enjoy it.
