Schools in session

Educators are always keenly aware when school resumes whether we’re still in that profession or not.  I am one.  Here’s a few thoughts for today.

Over 14 million students are in our public high schools today.

More than 1 million students drop out every school year.  Thats one every 26 seconds.

44% of dropouts under 24 are jobless

A drop out is more than eight times as likely to be in jail or prison as a high school graduate and 20 times more likely than a college graduate.

Each year the U. S. spends $9,644 per student  compared to $22,600 per prison inmate.

What’s the drop out rate of your local public school?  What can you do?  Praying is a good place to start.
