President’s Day
On President’s Day we celebrate those who‘ve held the highest position in our country.
Reading of past greats like George Washington and Abraham Lincoln God has blessed our country with leaders uniquely gifted in wisdom and committed to our God and the Bible.
However, being in leadership invites criticism and insults. William Henry Harrison was ridiculed as “His Accidency.” Lincoln called President James Polk ‘a completely bewildered man.‘ Franklin Roosevelt was called an ‘unAmerican radical, and Richard Nixon nicknamed ‘Tricky Dick.
Of course, criticism can be avoided by never being in the lime light, never leading, holding office or acting.
Any person desiring to be a leader should study Jesus, the greatest leader of all time. That won’t prevent criticism. However, a good leader is known by his enemies. Beware the leader that is loved by everybody.
