Presidential advice 3
Why seek the highest position in this country? Why run for president? campaign tirelessly? accept criticism, barbs, and insults, be scrutinized relentlessly?
Often we don’t know until they’re elected. I’d advise each one to search Scripture and examine each leader there. Some excellent, some failures–much to learn from. King Solomon started well. He revealed his motivation early. In II Chronicles 1: 10, “Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?”
Humility! He recognized his lack of wisdom for the task. Not his people, but God’s.
Do you realize you are not equal to the task? Our citizens are not yours to manipulate? We are God’s. If you answered Yes, and Yes, you are qualified to run.
