Misremembering
Communication is important. We listen, we trust, we believe. Unless we discover that what we hear is not exactly true. Untruths are more believable if there’s some truth and evidence rolled in. When challenged, the communicator is likely to defend his or her position.
A recent broadcaster, whom we trusted for news, admitted that he ‘misremembered.‘ I’ve never heard that word before. Then a different commentator stated the newscaster might be suffering from ‘vivid personality syndrome.’ Never heard of that either.
Rather than rush to judge, its a chance for each of us to look in the mirror and examine ourselves. Its easier to be pecking at the speck in someone else’s eye than the log in our own. Better than looking in the mirror, look into Scripture. That’s truth we can count on.
