God’s pruning
I awakened to see that last night’s tearing wind pruned my old locust tree. Two huge branches were twisted off. My first thought, “That’ll cost me money.” But God had something better in mind. On my morning walk I learned of a nearby pastor who heats his home with a wood burning stove. A phone call later and I was able to help him because of an unwanted event.
John 15:2 tells us that every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. This describes my locust tree. This giver of shade and beauty has been pruned to bear more fruit–heat a pastors house.
And in time, new branches will fill the void.
Have you experienced a tearing wind in your life? Take a second look. God’s pruning results in good.
