Flames of revolution

What will be the hallmarks of 2012?  In 2011 the flames of revolution dominated the world stage.  Starting with an vendor in Tunisia setting himself aflame  tired of the cruelty of those in charge, the flames of revolution spread to Egypt, Beltran, Yemen, Libya, and Syria.

When flames become smoldering ashes, the dead buried, and the rubble cleared, what  remains?  Only the possibility of learning these lessons.

the human heart does not beat well under oppression.

power misused has a price.

gaining freedom is a messy process.

freedom has a great price.

While we don’t know how these nations will fare, we know each citizen can experience personal freedom.

Embracing our Creator,  and obeying God’s direction in Scripture will ensure a freedom of spirit more precious than political freedom.

And a safe, secure home when this life is over.
