Jesus calls is in Matthew 5:8 to be pure in heart. That seems impossible to me. Yet, when God calls us, He equips us. First, in accepting Jesus and all that he is and has done, he places His robe on me. A pure one.
We won’t experience personal purity until Heaven. Meanwhile we pursue purity. We have a forgiven heart. God creates in us a clean heart, so we are free to keep taking steps forward pursing God only. Acts 20:24 ‘my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me.’
To be pure is to lay aside distractions, not be double-minded. Are you pulled in different directions? Ask God to give you a pure heart, single-mindedness. He promises to answer this prayer.
